The evening will provide students with insights into the refrigeration and heat pump sector, where three engineers from different parts of the industry will talk about their work with the technology. This will be complemented by insights into the transition from DTU students to engineers in the industry.

Following that, Jonas Kjær Nielsen, Associate Professor at the Department of Mechanical Technology will share ideas and inspiration for courses at DTU that are relevant to the refrigeration and heat pump industry. Finally, there will be a presentation from a PhD student who will introduce her current project at DTU.

17:30 – 17:55: Christoffer Petersen, Consultant for COWI in Industry and Data Centres
– Working as an engineering consultant in the energy sector.
– Transition from DTU student to working in the industry.

– Working at Viegand & Maagøe – What it’s like?
– Specific job content at the Danish Energy Agency and Viegand & Maagøe.
– The heat pump industry’s role in the electrification of industrial and residential customers.

18:25 – 18:40: Sandwich, water, soda and beer 

18:40 – 19:05: Wiebke Brix Markussen, Senior Consultant for Danish Technological Institute
– Introduction to my work at the Danish Technological Institute – an independent research and technology organization (RTO).
– Academia vs industry – What is it like to work for an organization collaborating with both sectors?  

19:10 – 19:35: Jonas Kjær Jensen, Associate Professor at the Department of Civil and Mechanical Engineering
– Presentation of DTU courses within refrigeration, heat pumps, thermodynamics, energy, and
heat transmission. 

19:35 – 20:00: Rikke Cilius Pedersen, PhD Student at the Department of Civil and Mechanical
Engineering.
– Transition from master student to PhD student.
– Thoughts on working in the university world.
– Presentation of her project: “Technoeconomic assessment of technologies for infrastructure for captured CO2”.
